    könnten Sie schreiben Anleitung, wie man Garmin-IMG-Daten (mit TYP-Datei) in XML (OSM) zu konvertieren unter Windows?

    I not sure if that is possible.
    From Garmin IMG tp MP it shall be possible.


    Maybe with GlobalMapper you can save it in OSM format.


    Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob das geht.
    Richtung MP sollte es gehen.


    Soweit ich es weis kann GloblaMapper OSM lesen, evt. auch schreiben?
    Dann wäre das eine Möglichkeit.

    in der neuen CPSL 7.4 ist der import von Garmin.img vorgesehen, habe es noch nicht getestet.

    img ging schon immer direkt einzulesen. Ist aber gegenüber OSM uninteresssant und kaum praktikabel.

    Marek wollte sicherlich aus diesem Grund über eine automatische Konvertierung aus einer *.tdb (img Zusammenstellung) eine osm erstellen.

    maybe the mp2osm tool from here will help you. You first have to create a mp file from img file (GPSMapEdit will do that) and then you can create an OSM file from the mp file with the tool mentioned above.

    It seems that I've finally resolved my problem.


    To convert IMG into OSM we need:
    1. GPSMapEdit (IMG---->MP)
    2. Python (MP--->OSM)


    How to convert MP--->OSM?
    Answer: start txt2osm.py from the Python Tools/Scripts directory.


    ...to be continued... the script is currently runing (it takes time) ;)

    I assume you will have to send them an email and ask for a download link as for most of the other programs from pinns.co.uk.

    soll das heissen, man kann eine offne IMG-Garmin (z.B Island) damit als Vektor mit eine Twonav-Software am Android verwenden?

    das ging schon immer - für Island wären für mich nur die lines interessant (routbar) und vielleicht noch Pois + Rastermap 50 K/100K.

    Ich habe für die nächste Islandreise die Topo 50K + routbare MPVF aus der freien Garmin und aus den OSM Daten. Kann man beide zusammen oder einzeln als Overlay anzeigen und sieht manchmal die Abweichungen.

    I think for Typ-File we've to edit the *.xml for Garmin in CPSL, that may be difficult.
    You are right, no chance for NT-Maps, but NT-Maps are Road-Maps and Openstreetmap is imho 95% complete for Roadmaps in Western-Europa. I would not spend time in convert NT-Maps.

    Yes,

    I see that IMG-CompeGPSPlugin works for 50% now.
    Converting IMG-map tiles separately has no sense for me (esp. for larger countries, alike Deutschland and Poland), and therefore, I'd prefer OSM-Plugin (which works just fine; apart from some obstacles in TwoNav - Abc search, etc...!).

    I wrote an e-mail and I got an explanation that they "withdraw the mp2osm programme due to misuse".
