  • Hi,

I have been using QMapShack V1.20.2 with Windows 11, and today I noticed the existence of a new release 1.20.3.

When installing the new version, the installer stops saying "QMapShack running. Close it and restart the installer!"

According to the Task Manager, the software is not running; I have even tried to install the software after restarting the computer... but I always get the same message.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

    Thanks in advance, best regards,

    Augusto Sousa

Which Installer did you use? There are two: https://github.com/wthaem/qmapshack/releases/tag/V1.20.3

Dear WST, Thanks for your attention.

I am using the "QMapShack-1.20.3.0_x64_setup.exe"; if I understood well, the other installer becomes with a few things preconfigured... and I do not want to modify my own configuration.

By the way, to install the current version I have, I used the equivalent (?) "QMapShack-1.20.2.0_x64_setup.exe ".

Uninstall the current version is a little risky... if the new version continues not installing, I may become without any version at all...

Thanks again for any help you can give me.

    The best,

    Augusto.Sousa

  • Dear friends,

The problem is now solved. I saw a suggestion from another user in the release discussion (in the GitHub releases): rename the folder where the current version is installed. At the first try, this didn't work, but after a PC reset, the new version installed perfectly.

Many thanks for your attention to this. If I can be helpful in any way, please be free to ask!

  • Zitat

the installer stops saying "QMapShack running. Close it and restart the installer!"

(being the author of the installer):

This message pops up in the installer if and only if the result of the Windows command `tasklist /FO CSV /NH /FI "IMAGENAME eq qmapshack.exe"` includes an entry (an executable file name) with `qmapshack.exe`. I don't understand how this can happen after a computer restart without starting QMS. Is QMS started automatically when starting the system?
